Chek campsite update

Contractors have finished phase 1 of the campground expansion at the Cheakamus Canyon Recreation Site. At the upper (main) parking area there are now sixteen campsites with grills, tables and bear-proof storage. Of these five are drive-in and the remainder walk-in (but seconds from the parking area). Outhouses but no water supply. Sites are free of charge in 2018. SAS encourages climbers to take advantage of these sites.Phase 2, building into the forest beyond the lower parking lot, will begin in the fall.
