On the cusp of a beautiful weekend, the SAS would like to confirm with the climbing public that the parking at the Chief is in fact currently open.  The lack of signage and preparation for paving no doubt leave a different impression, especially to visitors.   The old highway-side parking lot is the one to use, and you will still be able to access the upper lots from there.   As of this afternoon (Friday, April 3rd) the new entrance road further south was inaccessible.  The SAS has a meeting with Sea to Sky Highway Improvement Project personnel on April 6th and we will raise the issue of signage (again), which has consistently been a problem since work began in the area.

In addition, access from the highway to the Apron parking looks less than inviting, but it is there and don’t be daunted by taking the right turn through the pylons.  This will be raised at Monday’s meeting as well.
