New SAS directors
Squamish Access Society is delighted to welcome two new directors, elected at the AGM.Jack Fieldhouse needs little introduction to most Squamish climbers. Jack is the only person to have won Golden Scrub Brush Awards for both boulders and routes!Travis McClinchey joins the SAS board to fill the treasurer role. He has been climbing and traveling part-time since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2011. His travels have taken him to places as diverse as the Lotus Flower Tower and Ceuse. Recently he has also begun developing new routes in Squamish. Travis was treasurer of ACC Vancouver for five years. At the AGM, outgoing director, Chris Small, was also thanked for his important work for the society over several years. Chris' contributions have included conceiving and running the Golden Scrub Brush Awards event, major negotiations with BC Timber Sales to reduce impacts from logging at Olesen Creek, Chek and elsewhere, and serving as society president from January 2016.The current SAS board and roles are listed here.
