Two things to inform climbers of,

1) It is peregrine falcon nesting season now. BC Parks is asking climbers assistance in identifying potential nest sites in order to make well informed falcon closures. Our collective assistance and respecting this closure in this work really helps climber's relationship with BC Parks. There are anecdotal reports of falcons on Angel's Crest this year already. If you see falcons on the Chief this weekend please note the location and send that information to us at SAS or BC Parks biologist Joanna Hirner (

2) If you are thinking that the Longhouse might be a good place to climb this weekend SAS would like to remind you that log hauling is occurring on the Mamquam, Stawamus, and Shannon FSRs for the next two to three weeks. We advise climbers avoid use of these roads for safety reasons.

As the climbing season starts please make a note of routes needing repair and submit them as a reply to this post so SAS can get working on them. Thanks. ... See MoreSee Less
